Here is an overview of some of the work I have been doing in the last year. There are also some older sketches in there and some are collaborations. Some are commissioned and some are for fun. Enjoy.
Lost and Found – my solo exhibition at Art Schism, Brighton.Art Schism, Canvas, Doodles, Events, Exhibitions, Inspiration, Sinbot
This weekend sees the opening of my first solo exhibition at the Art Schism gallery in Brighton’s North Laine area. The show is a reflection of the cartoon work that I have created in the past 9 years of being in Brighton.
The show, ‘Lost and Found’, is so called because during my time in Brighton I have discovered myself, made new friends that have influenced me and my work and have guided me in to being able to do what I love doing the most. Creating.
The show runs from the 7th until the 25th November.
It has new paintings, rediscovered images and a selection of prints and postcards.
The show also features a limited run of screen printed tee-shirts available from next week.
There shall be a showcase of the work on, this Friday evening the 14th November from 6pm until 9pm, at the Art Schism Gallery, 87 Gloucester Rd, Brighton, BN1 4AP.
I would like to thank the Darkstar Brewing Co. for their support at this event.
Please RSVP to email@example.com.
Giger’s AlienArt Schism, Community, Inspiration, Projects, Walls
So once again we are flying through the year and not much is getting updated on this site. But that’s not to say that I haven’t been painting much.
After May I wound it down a little as I had been painting sheep ( on walls and boxes, not painting on sheep!) for Brighton Festival and creating a lot of stencil work. When that was over I wanted to paint something different.
Then HR GIGER died and I decided to paint a tribute on the side of the Art Schism shop in Brighton.
I wouldn’t say that my work is GIGER influenced, but the impact that his art had on me when I was younger was immense. How could it not be. The detail, the surrealism, the sexual explicitness. The Alien film design.
Thus I chose to honour the great man with a rendition of his famous alien. I used black transparent paints to sketch out and the technique that REQ had taught me to transpose the form on to the wall.
I then layered up the image with greys, blacks and transparent paint. I didn’t plan the image out, but painted the alien first and then decided to add the detail or a notion of the detail on the background.
Here it is finished.
Paint and Beer 2013 – Villa Friekens, Amsterdam.Collaborations, Community, Events, Festivals, Grafik Warfare, Inspiration, Projects, Sinbot, Travel, Uncategorized
Another awesome year at Paint and Beer and all in all it rocked.
With Sid on the amazing brew tip, Dries on the artist liaision with a loose ‘Street Art versus Graff’ theme ( It always seems like that anyway, with the artists segregated that way!), the whole day was brilliant fun and I met some sound peeps.
Painting massive walls and then later vans too, I ended up in the club at 4am and, to my delight, stumbled across these amazing Techno Gnomes having it on stage.
Thus enabling me to stay up and drink more fine beer and dance away the rest of the night. Brilliant!
I always love the Paint and Beer because it always inspires me to try out things that I wouldn’t normally do and I see an array of amazing styles.
Literally painting from the minute that I got there to the moment that I left, the event always does exactly what it says on the tin. Simple!
Thanks to all Friekens crew especially the one and only Dries and Sid ( and fam). Mega love and respect to the UK connection. Snub fam always in full effect.
Until next year.

Art Schism – a co operative art movement and pop up shop….Collaborations, Community, Events, Grafik Warfare, Inspiration, Projects, Shop
I must start by apologising for my horrendous lack of posts in recent weeks. I have been up to my eyeballs in projects and organising stuff that i just haven’t had the time to even blink at my wordpress.
Right then, here is something that I’ve been involved with in the last week and that is the launch of a new pop up shop, just in time for December. If you are in Brighton this month then you should definitely come down and check it out.
Showing work from over 20 artists, we have an amazing array of arts and crafts that you wont find many other places this December.
With great bargains on artwork from Snub23, MNKY, Jemma Treweek, Ed Tucker, Sinna One, Petting Zoo, Pinky, 3 Pigeons,Mazcan, Foundry, Suzi Horn, LaFFancy, T[ERROR]ist, Petrusco’s Eye and many more.
You really can’t go wrong with purchases from this shop. And not only that but the majority of artists have submitted a one colour design for a screen print which you can get exclusively in store and see it being printed in front of your very eyes on to tee shirts and paper!!
We are open from the 1st Dec until the 24th. Mon- Sat 10am – 7pm Sun 11am – 5pm.
For more info and updates go to the Art Schism Facebook.
Playgroup Festival 2012 – The Blind Tiger WallCollaborations, Commissions, Community, Doodles, Events, Festivals, Grafik Warfare, Projects, Walls
Festy season is with us once more and one of my favourite festivals in the last 2 years has been Playgroup at Eridge park in Tunbridge Wells.
To celebrate this years festival, I was asked to come and paint the wall at the Blind Tiger Club Brighton. It was a beautiful day and I got more than my fair share of sunburn whilst doing it!
Drawing inspiration from this years theme and a little story on the flyer, I came up with this colourful design. Using some rough sketches and a lot of imagination (or making it up as I go), the whole wall took me a day to paint.
The finished wall can now be seen on the side of the pub.
More shots of the progress and a time lapsed video by Pooka Photography is on the way.
Follow the links in this post for more info on the festival and how to get tickets…
Happy New Year from Sinna One and friends.Brighton Green Boxes, Collaborations, Commissions, Doodles, Grafik Advent Project, Grafik Warfare, Media Box painting, Projects
Wow!! 2012. Here we are. What a great end to 2011 and what a great year for me in respect of some great projects. I hope that 2012 brings even more brilliant opportunities.
At the end of 2011, as you all know, I started painting the media junction boxes around Brighton. This then evolved in to the Grafik Advent project for Dec.
The month saw varied artworks on green boxes all around Brighton from myself and other Grafik Warfare members.
The project was a success, and I now have my work cut out for me and the crew in the next week or so to cover all the Christmas works up. The results of which will be appearing on here.
In the meantime here are a great selection of shots, captured by the brilliant 4FOOT2. He has a great passion for photographing street art and graffiti and spends a good deal of time finding the best spots and getting the best shots. You can see more of his work on his Flickr – Here.
Artists work shown – Sinna One, SNUB 23, Hipster, REQ1, Stink Like Dog. Many thanks to 4FOOT2.
Grafik Advent Dec 24th – T’was the Night before Christmas…Brighton Green Boxes, Collaborations, Doodles, Fresh St. ART, Grafik Advent Project, Grafik Warfare, Projects, Walls
Todays installment is a slightly bigger display. Painted as part of the Fresh St. Art project with help from EZ.
So only one day left. The project draws to a close and it has been awesome to see so many diverse images go up. Thanks to all on the project. I had hoped for something grand for the finale, however due to rainy weather was unable to do this.
Anyway, Happy Christmas. I hope that you get all that you wish for.
