Sinna’s Grotto 3 – The return of the slack – 3rd December 2022

Events, Exhibitions

Are you hanging up your stockings on the wall? Well don’t. It’s a sure fire way to ladder the fekkaz.

In all seriousness though, YES!! It’s that frikkin time of year again and we all need to get a little festive, spend our hard earned cash on pointless presents for our loved ones and get seriously mullered on some mulled beverages!

It can be gruelling traipsing around the same old sh*thouse shops and buying any old tat, but don’t you worry. Have no fear, good ol’ SINNA CLAWS is here.

Yes indeedy! From the 3rd of December I shall be opening the doors of the Gallery Lock in, on the actual cusp of Brighton AND Hove.

Situated on Little Western Street ( it is the Brighton and Hove border, actually ), opposite the fine establishment that is the Robin Hood pub ( they have amazing drink, pizza and flavoured vodka gifts too ), you shall find art, in original and print form, prizes, spray paint workshops, tees, hoodies and an array of interesting local artists known and undiscovered.

Come and see Sinna Claws and tell him that you’ve probably been a little bad. Knee sitting is optional, but by all means do get your butt down to the Gallery Lock In for some seriously exclusive art works.

As mentioned above Spray Paint workshops are a new addition to the Grotto. BOOK in and come and paint on the walls of the grotto. Or If you know someone who would love to spray paint in future then why not buy them a workshop voucher for next year?

Private view shall be on the Friday 2nd December. RSVP at the bottom of this post to attend. The first 15 peeps shall get a goody bag.

Only complete RSVP for attending Private View on the 2nd Dec

Brighton Festival Mural 2016 – For the Love of Dogs

Commissions, Community, Events, Festivals, Inspiration, Projects, Walls

Here is an overview of the festival wall in progress. This was a great project to work on and the first time that I have ever painted dog portraits. The project was born after the Brighton Festival team wanted something inspired by this year’s guest director’s love of dogs. American artist, Laurie Anderson performed a concert for dogs during the festival and a competition was run by the festival for dog owners to have pictures of their dog painted. The project took ten days and in that time i received lots of great feedback as well as other dog owners trying to talk me in to adding ‘just one more dog’. You can see the completed mural on Kensington Street, Brighton.

Thanks to Ten of Swords and Rosanna for helping with a couple of the dogs and making the end of the mural come together.  Thanks also to Brighton Festival, Healys for providing the wall, Facelift for the elevation and Graff City for their continuing support and swift paint delivery.

The show, ‘Lost and Found’, is  so called because during my time in Brighton I have discovered myself, made new friends that have influenced me and my work and have guided me in to being able to do what I love doing the most. Creating.

Icons- an art exhibition by Req and Sinna One

Last year Req and myself spent a month painting a large scale mural on the side of the Prince Albert pub. We were asked to paint a series of portraits depicting dead musicians and famous faces as a tribute to the pub landlord’s heroes.

This Friday we revisit this mural and host a show at Art Schism with new portraits on display and prints and postcards of the mural for sale.

The show runs for 2 weeks at Art Schism, but this Friday is the launch and we start at the gallery at 87 Gloucester Rd, Brighton from 5pm. Our good friends at the Darkstar Brewing Company have given us a keg of Hophead to enjoy. We then head to the Prince Albert for a little shindig and to see the short film that Snowstorm media made about the wall.

There will be music and live drawing and maybe even some portraits too.

We shall be at the Albert from just after 8pm and the film is being shown at half 8.

Come and join us. For more info visit the event page on Facebook.

Paint and Beer 2013 – Villa Friekens, Amsterdam.

Collaborations, Community, Events, Festivals, Grafik Warfare, Inspiration, Projects, Sinbot, Travel, Uncategorized

Another awesome year at Paint and Beer and all in all it rocked.

With Sid on the amazing brew tip, Dries on the artist liaision with a loose ‘Street Art versus Graff’ theme ( It always seems like that anyway, with the artists segregated that way!), the whole day was brilliant fun and I met some sound peeps.

Painting massive walls and then later vans too, I ended up in the club at 4am and, to my delight, stumbled across these amazing Techno Gnomes having it on stage.

Thus enabling me to stay up and drink more fine beer and dance away the rest of the night. Brilliant!

I always love the Paint and Beer because it always inspires me to try out things that I wouldn’t normally do and I see an array of amazing styles.

Literally painting from the minute that I got there to the moment that I left, the event always does exactly what it says on the tin. Simple!

Thanks to all Friekens crew especially the one and only Dries and Sid ( and fam). Mega love and respect to the UK connection. Snub fam always in full effect.

Until next year.
