Sorry, once again, for the delay in posting. Things are getting more and more hectic in the run up to Christmas. There is still work to be done. There are cards to write and also some Christmas shopping to finish. Arrrrrgh. And on top of this the last 5 Advent pics to be done.
The last few days, I have been busy so we have a collection of boxes done by Req1, Stink Like Dog and Snub 23. These fantastic pictures come courtesy of amazing photographer 4Foot2.
As this project has moved along and different artists have become involved, it has been incredible to see the level of artwork being put out there. Grafik Warfare and friends have offered up a range of diversity and skill in producing the boxes. As I say there are 5 days left. Keep tuned in for more awesome work.
Another day, another Father Christmas. I know it is similar to the 12th installment, but I wanted to do this one quick and it was on a bigger, more central box in the city.
For quickness it took just under an hour and had lots of cheery and bewildered Christmas shoppers giving me nice comments and wishing me a ‘Happy Christmas’.:) 🙂
Sorry for the poor picture quality, tis a dark and gloomy day.
So, it’s been a nice sunny day in Brighton today and that has meant that it has been slightly easier to paint boxes.
Today’s installment was in conjuction with Fresh St. Art, the youth project that I run.
I was assisted by Taylor, who masterfully filled in the box as I sketched it out and he learnt some techniques of cutting back and creating the pattern.
Good work all round, taking just over an hour to complete.
Gettin kinda cold, isn’t it? It most certainly is. Yesterdays Grafik Advent by me. x Only nine days to Christmas. EEK!
Todays installment. Was dark so better pic to follow.
Woah, only 13 days til Christmas. here is todays GRAFIK ADVENT.
If you like this then add me on Facebook or like my Sinna One Facebook page. 1st Ten Facebook friend requests will get a Sinna One A3 poster. Just tell me that you came through my blog.:)
Well in to the project now and new additions popping up all over.
As other artists are doing it, not all of them are directly Christmas related.
But it makes the street look brighter and cheers people up.
Public response has been positive and I have had lots of nice comments by passers by. There have 1 or 2 nasty and disapproving comments, and I am always open to hearing people’s opinions. I find it frustrating that the people who don’t like it, also are rude and will not give me the time of day to discuss the project.
If you like it or don’t agree with it then tell me what you think.
Snub bangs out some 23 steez on the boxes for Dec 10th. These are all located around the city centre.
You can see his other work on his FLICKR.
The 23 is representing SNUB’s favourite number and not the Advent day. That one is yet to come and something big should be coming for the last 2 days of the Advent. Watch this space. 🙂
A new day on the Advent Calendar and 2 offerings for your viewing pleasure. But a down fall too. But lets start with the Positive vibes.
Our first contender. An ace stencil on a large box nr the Western Rd Area of Brighton, painted by Grafik Warfare’s mighty SNUB23.
In true SNUB fashion, he wows us with an awesome background texture then puts his infamous Hammerstein Stencil on top. Super Sharp and So Damn Fresh ( to quote some legendary Ganga Cru!! ). Very tasty Indeed.
Then my slightly later offering of the RoseBot stencil on a smaller box in the New England Quarter. The Stencil on the side underneath my signature was already there. I just decided to go around it. I added the tag lines Invent – Inspire – Love and Respect and Knowledge and Freedom in response to the next bit of news.
The bad news is that, whilst this was going on, the council were sent to remove the images on the boxes on Ann Street, as a lady complained that the project gave out the wrong message to children. These particular boxes are outside of a primary school and the lady thought that they promote Graffiti and Vandalsim. The fact that the project is designed to cover illegal tags and deter future graffiti on the boxes, as well as boost community spirit and brighten the place up did not appease her. The boxes are now setting a good local community example by being painted a nice boring grey colour. Very much in the vein of the opinion and attitude of the lady. Grey and Boring.
Not to worry though, plenty more to come.
If you are in Brighton this Thursday and Friday then I shall be selling some pieces at a reasonable price at the New England House Christmas Open Studios. The New England House building has lots of studios, meaning that there are a variety of great Christmas gifts at reasonable prices.

The studio is on the 5th Floor, turn right out of the lift. We are also next door to the Ceramics studio, where you can get amazing discounts on high quality ceramics by Rowena Gilbert, Ken Eardly and Simon Mathews to name but a few.
