Here’s 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8….
More to come tomorrow….
Yes, yes. It’s back. The Grafik Advent hosted by me, Sinna One.
It’s flipping freezing out there at the moment, but has that stopped me?
Hell no!
My paint stained fingers have taking such a cold bashing in the last five days and they shall continue to do so until the advent is up. So here are the first few and expect to see more. Every day. Watch this space….
With all this wetness this summer it is proving hard to get out and paint boxes. Here are the few that I’ve managed when the sun has momentarily poked its face out.

So we hit the end of may, and it was bloody sunny. Yay!! Got all of the boxes painted. Now June is here and it’s equally as rainy, so cannae get out to paint boxes again!!
So, just before the end of the festival, I went out on one scorching morning and painted the final box of the festival. Nice spot, in front of Brighton pier. The amazing Mr Hopes of Pooka Photography came along and documented the event and put this rather lovely timelapse together, alongside my favourite remix of Caribou’s SUN – remixed by FYBE : ONE of Shades of Grey recordings
Thanks to Brighton Festival, Snub23, Brighton Council, Pooka Photography and FYBE : ONE
Along side the Yarn Bomb project. the main project for Brighton Festival was for myself and Snub 23 to brand up some Brighton green boxes in the Brighton Festival styleee.
Got a few done, but the rain has been holding off painting play. Grrr! If it stops then there’ll be more to come in the next few days.
Today sees the launch of the Brighton Festival street project in conjunction with Grafik Warfare.
You may have seen the wall of AUNG SAN SUU KYI, that we did for last years festival. If not then the post is here
This year we are rolling out a smaller set of images across the city, using the festival branding over the media boxes.
We are also collaborating with a team of Yarn Bombers to add some fabric style Street Art in to the mix.
Keep your eyes peeled around Brighton for the next week or so and you’ll see the work appearing.
Wow!! 2012. Here we are. What a great end to 2011 and what a great year for me in respect of some great projects. I hope that 2012 brings even more brilliant opportunities.
At the end of 2011, as you all know, I started painting the media junction boxes around Brighton. This then evolved in to the Grafik Advent project for Dec.
The month saw varied artworks on green boxes all around Brighton from myself and other Grafik Warfare members.
The project was a success, and I now have my work cut out for me and the crew in the next week or so to cover all the Christmas works up. The results of which will be appearing on here.
In the meantime here are a great selection of shots, captured by the brilliant 4FOOT2. He has a great passion for photographing street art and graffiti and spends a good deal of time finding the best spots and getting the best shots. You can see more of his work on his Flickr – Here.
Enjoy.
Artists work shown – Sinna One, SNUB 23, Hipster, REQ1, Stink Like Dog. Many thanks to 4FOOT2.
So that’s it. We reach the end of the Grafik Advent project. It’s been fun. It’s been a challenge. there have been great comments and smiles. There have been nasty comments and bad vibes. I’m glad I did it and got others involved. Brighton now has some great art on boxes.
Watch this space for all the pics and more great artwork for the New Year.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!
Todays installment is a slightly bigger display. Painted as part of the Fresh St. Art project with help from EZ.
So only one day left. The project draws to a close and it has been awesome to see so many diverse images go up. Thanks to all on the project. I had hoped for something grand for the finale, however due to rainy weather was unable to do this.
Anyway, Happy Christmas. I hope that you get all that you wish for.
Let’s say hi to REQ.
Req 1 has been approaching this project with his unique, photo real style. Immortalising his model, Alice, around the streets of Brighton.
When I first moved to Brighton, around 5 years ago, I was delighted to have the opportunity to meet Req 1.
A key player in Brighton’s graf scene since the 80’s and producer of eclectic beats, REQ1 is now also known for his skills in observation drawing, and more impressively in spray paint.
So here you are, for the 23rd installment of Grafik advent, Req’s take on the nativity. Keep an eye out for more work by Req around Brighton. He also runs projects through the name DUSTWORKS, and sells his art through INK-D gallery in Brighton.
Only 2 more days to go. Keep your eyes peeled.
