It’s flipping freezing out there at the moment, but has that stopped me?

Hell no!

My paint stained fingers have taking such a cold bashing in the last five days and they shall continue to do so until the advent is up. So here are the first few and expect to see more. Every day. Watch this space….

Don’t Badger the Badgers…

Badgers, Community

Once again, I am posting about the Badger Cull debate. The petition is still out there and needs to be signed. An amazing response so far with 156,000 signatures, however anyone that believes this is wrong and hasn’t signed needs to do so. Sign here

The good news is that this is now due for debate in Parliament, but it aint over yet.

In other Stop the Cull news there is a Love the Badger flash mob dance this weekend in Parliament Square from 2pm and Trafalgar Square from 3.30pm on Sunday the 21st October. Organised by the great folks at Artful Badger. More info here – ShnufleShnuffle.

And finally…My image of the Badgerfaced Blues that i painted on a shutter in Brighton as my response to the proposed cull was reposted on the RSPCA official facebook page and got nearly 900 likes. Very proud of that.

Well, I tell ya, I must have been snoozing as I totally missed out on posting this bit of timelapse that POOKA did for Playgroup Festival this year. Again, the Festival was an awesome one, with a fantastic line up and amazing people to boot.

Here is the vid…Enjoy.

Prince Fatty versus the Drunken Gambler

Commissions, Community, Projects, Walls

As the summer was drawing to a close and the weather was still fine, I managed to fit in a little mural for Prince Fatty’s new album release – Prince Fatty Versus the Drunken Gambler.

Prince Fatty asked me to recreate the album artwork, originally drawn by famous illustrator JAKe, on a big wall in Brighton. The image shows Fatty, Holie Cook and Horseman ready to battle na Kung Fu stylie.

This was another challenging commission, as I am so used to drawing my own artwork, and it took a day just to get the original sketch to how it should look.

I was happy with the end result and more importantly, Fatty was over the moon.

There is a time lapse of the piece being painted on the way.

The album is out now on Mr Bongo.

Now hear dis…

GOBI – AKA the Mongolian barbeque

Commissions, Projects, Walls

This project was from last year and I’m only just getting around to posting the pics.

Gobi is a Mongolian barbeque restaurant in Brighton. I was asked to come in and brighten up the cloakroom.

The designs are not my own work, but the work of a Mongolian artist named G.Batchuluun.

Both pieces are from batik style paintings. The first depicting the goddess of Art ‘Yanjinlkham’ and the second depicting Ghengis Khan. Link to these images here – Mongolian Shop

It was interesting to paint in this style as they have a slightly buddhist art style to them. Something that I felt that I explored a little bit more on my travels in India a couple of months after this.

Paint and Beer 2012…akaGraffiti bootcamp!

Uncategorized

Another great summer, despite the weather, but plenty of painting got done and to top it all off, I took a visit, along with other Grafik Warfarers and new found friends to Amsterdam Noord for the Paint and Beer event at Villa Friekens.

This year is Paint and Beers 6th year and the Paint was spraying, the beer was flowing and the Chronic Sounds were pumping…

Here are a couple of images from the event. Visit my Facebook page for more flicks….

Not so black and white

With the current and ongoing news of the proposal to cull up to 70% of Badgers to stop the spread of Bovine TB amongst cattle, I have been painting Badgers again in a bid to get people to sign the petition to stop the cull.

It is barbaric and unscientific.

For more info and a link to the government petition visit Teambadger.org

You can also visit the page of my good friend Badgerface Jones on Facebook. There you’ll find a lot of my images and links to info on the cull and other Badger related goodness.
